Legendary Entertainer, Award Winning Flamenco Guitarist and Comedian Delivers the Keynote Address Saturday at 1:00
Only a few people in show business are recognized by just one name. Charo was the first. She is an American music and pop culture icon who has entertained millions during her career. Voted “Best Flamenco Guitarist” and recently wowed audiences at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with her brand new show, featuring her virtuoso guitar skills, her orchestra and dancers. Charo’s bubbly personality and trademark “cuchi cuchi” expression have endeared her to millions of fans around the world. Her name is synonymous with music, fun and excitement.
To celebrate 2017 Hispanic Heritage Month, Charo will release the single ¡Fantástico!, a fiery techno flamenco song that will get everyone dancing. ¡Fantástico! is the first single from Charo’s new album “Guitar on Fire” and will be available on itunes and other music retailers this month!
Charo recently appeared on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and dazzled America with her rendition of Malagüeña
during the season finale. She has also starred in several episodes of the CW’s "Jane The Virgin" and appeared as the Queen of England in Sharknado5 on SyFy Network. Charo is the recipient of the Ricardo Montalban Lifetime Achievement ALMA Award, bestowed by The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States. She regularly appears in countless hit television series and talk shows.
Charo is also a humanitarian and an activist for LGBT and animal rights. Like Pamela Anderson, Paul McCartney and Pink, Charo is a member of PETA who speaks out against animal cruelty. Charo was recently back on the Billboard charts with her latest single dance club hit – España Cañí
, the traditional bullfighting song, which she recorded in protest against bull fighting.
